Funding

At BlackWhite Solicitors Ltd, we advise clients on the options available to them for funding their case(s).

Private Clients:

At your first meeting, we will inform you how we calculate our charges. We will inform you as to the options available to you, i.e either to agree a fixed fee with us or we inform you of the hourly rate of the staff that will conduct your matter. Whichever option you chose, we will update you periodically on the status of the running costs of representing you.

In litigation matters, you may also be able to recover your costs from the opposing party if you win your case.

Public Funding:

At BlackWhite Solicitors Ltd, we undertake work funded by the Legal Aid Agency(LAA). Public funding (formerly known as legal aid) is a system of government funding administered by the LAA for those who cannot afford to pay for legal advice and representation.

We have legal aid franchise in the following areas:

  • Housing law
  • Family/Children law
  • Community Care
  • Prison law
  • Debt law
  • Criminal Appeals and Reviews(CCRC)

Franchises are granted by the LAA for practising in specific areas of law and are an endorsement of our quality system, client commitment and legal skills in those areas.

Please contact us so that we can assess what funding may be available to you.
